Nazgul Says 05:25
Nazgul Says Well, It came right from the West Coast / And into my room / Like a sea wind suddenly warm / Now I’m carrying the sun in a wheelchair / All the way down to the mall / Carrying the sun in a wheelchair / All the way down to the mall // Did I say something wrong / When I opened my mouth for the first time / And the hummingbird flew / Free for a second / And was beaten to death by the pigs? / Beaten to death by the pigs / Beaten to death... // Oh, I’m a little tender soul / A little tender soul / That’s what the Nazgul said / Trapped into this bloody mess / Trapped into this bloody mess // Now I’m carrying the sun in a wheelchair / Pouring light on girls and dogs / Carrying the sun in a wheelchair / All the way down to the mall // Did I do something wrong / when I asked to be touched / and you opened your hand / And the bird that was there / flew for a second / And was beaten to death by the pigs? / Beaten to death by the pigs / Beaten to death… // Oh I’m a little lost boy / That’s what the creature said in a hiss / And got beaten to death by the pigs / Refuse / Resist / Refuse / Resist.
2.
Hole of a Soul Well I’m living in the hole of a soul / And it feels like a rotten tooth / But I swear that I love this poor home / Like you love a well or a root // Yes I live inside the skull of a cat / Everything is carved in stone / And every sound has a mineral charm / With no love and no harm // Long ago in the shadow of the mansion / No, I couldnt feel that breeze / Long ago in the shadow of my passion / Well, I couldnt feel this / Lack of need / This lack of need I feel // Well I’m living in the hole of a soul / I know your world’s dead and gone / Here’s cheap and water runs free / between the question and the deep blue me // Outside the room where we’re fucking / All the specters come and go… / Just keep waiting on the shore / Just keep looking for the word / Just keep sucking on your bone / Just keep digging up your grave // Long ago in the shadow of the mansion / Well, I couldnt feel that breeze / Long ago in the battlefield of passions / ell, I couldnt feel this / Lack of need / This lack of need I feel // Well, I rest now in the bone of a bone / Dive inside its honey glow / And every time I lay my head down / I can hear the atoms flow.

Illumination 04:55
Illumination Came here / from my valley quiet and green / You stare at me / Trying to find yourself in a drag like this / I live / As a letter still to send / Stranded in the city / With a broken hand // Came here / From a different state of mind / Beware of what you’re searching / You might just find / I live / On the wrong side of the trend / Stranded in the city / With a broken hand // I’ve stared into the clouded walls / I’ve followed the crow on the flagpole / & listened to the strangest tune / Money being counted on // So all your resurrection tales / And all your cautionary trash / You know that you can take them home with you / And shove them up your ass // Illumination / Comes at a cost / Illumination / Comes at a cost.
4.
Digital Mother As I’m already dead, just like everyone else / I can now leave this hall and carry the night in my pocket / And step like a mouse, pass like a cloud / Walk beyond the realm of our digital mother // As I’m not even a breeze, just like you are / I can roam all this worlds that are many and one / I’ll be there in the stream, with a joke and a hiss / Far past the rage of our digital mother // Listen, child / If you are eager to know / to the absence of meaning / (to the) absence of tone // As I’ve never been here I can sing with no words / An unconscious smile that just came to your face / In the thread of blue light between zero and the other / Far from the realms of our digital mother // Listen, child / If you are eager to know / to the absence of meaning / Absence of tone // Once I thought I was me, then I thought I was you / But what kind of truth could that bring? / Now we lay in the stone and we dance in the sun / Now we smile at the blank and we flow / Down in the river of silver, far… / Far from the breath of our digital ma.
5.
Eve of All Churches Burning Eve of all churches burning / Eve of hungover friends on the phone and desolated rooms / Eve of of cigarrete marks / as interconnected lakes across your arms / and old lies creeping up your spine / Eve of Avalon pillaged and revenge porn for the blind / Eve of the sun being replaced with a purulent smile / And babies used as ashtrays // Eve of all churches burnt / and all / money / spent // So let’s celebrate, now / Your wit, your charm, your clarity / Embracing the world / Your cool transgender activism and / Animal fight / Just twitted while you drive back / to mom and dad’s / for Christmas diner / The night is chillin’ / and stars shine precise and defined / Like wishes hanging on a clothes line // Yeah, let’s celebrate fine young men blooming / And the vague metallic taste inside / The shape of the old building / turned into a tiny room / And the old blood turned / into a tame slow river // Cause it’s eve of all churches burning / Eve of all churches burnt.

New Town 08:32
New Town People come and gather by the Neon Café / Everybody coming round with something to sell // I lay in the dark listening to Neutral Milk Hotel / They were a good band, in the end / It’s night and I been thinkin’ about things I did in the past / & some other shit that I just said / & I’m remembering Johnny, I can even see him, cigarrete in hand / Saying “there’s a time to do and then one to regret” / & the halo of smoke still floats there / New room // Children don’t play round here no more, it’s quiet / They are now somewhere else, being taught how to kill / And for a moment, baby, I wish I could see your ghost / Floating down Elizabeth Street and waiting for me at the store / But what can we expect from / The blind leading the blind / To the grand final all ages black mass / Under a giant facebook sign? / Old town / New town / Old town /New town // With all your bright lights and your walmarts /And your old farts who think they play it cool / Covered in tons of seaweed and dry sperm / & Well fed with evening news… / Oh, They will track you down / Yeah, they will track you down / They’re always looking for the right branch / To hang each and every fool / & they found you / Old town / New town /Old town /New town // People come and gather by the Neon Café / Everybody coming round with something to sell // Your father worked and died here, and that makes you proud / You will always be my friend but you never were that bright / And your mother got married on that old church down the lane / But she was already dead by then and then she went insane / And your sister ran away & she lives in the world somewhere / Nobody can even imagine all the fun she’s missing out there / Yeah, your sister ran away… / Old town / New town /Old town / New town // So I was thinking about Johnny & the way he died / After licking life right to the bone from his midnight bowl of rice / And I know there’s no mercy in such a place / For a kind but troubled mind / The fuck they give is all the fuck you’ll get / Under this paper moon that never sets / Old town / Old town / New town / New town/ Old town / Oh there is no town at all / Old town / No town.

Read it on my Palm Here’s the hand that i found in the dirt / At the trailer park / Here’s the hand that I saved from the trash / Dim like a star / Here is the moment and the hour gone / Glowing in the dark / Here the day and the way it got killed / And buried in the yard // Here’s the ticket to the setting sun / And the birthday mark / Here is the drunkard comin’ home at dawn / Like a silent bark / Here’s your world found on a bin / In the backyard of Tornadoes’ Inn / Here’s the drag life’s turned you to / And the shape you’re in // Come on, you can read it on my palm // Here’s the infant and the grown up man / Melting in the dark / Here’s the echo of an ancient voice (truth) / Turned into alt facts / Here’s the distance and the journey done / Father turning into the son / Here the child that needed love / And his fascist clone // Come on, you can read it on my palm.

Everybody is Weak So you live in Madrid but you move like Iggy Pop / From roof to roof, you never drop, do you? / We need you fit, we need you in / We need some kind of true original /Original sin / ‘Cause everybody’s weak / Yeah, everybody’s weak // Yeah, you live next door but you come from real far / A true star like, burning blue, you’ll never fall, Will you? / We need you awake, we need you in / We need some kind of true original / Original sin / Cause everybody’s weak / Yeah, everybody’s weak / Everybody’s weak / And the ones who are not weak they’re getting sick / They’re getting sick // Oh poor child, poor child / Welcome to the golden age of stupidity / When people no longer know how to behave / In the presence of a rock&roll god / When people no longer know how to stand / In the presence of life itself // ‘Cause everybody’s weak / Yeah, everybody’s weak / Everybody’s weak / And the ones who are not weak they’re getting sick / They’re getting sick.

Pay in Rain 04:32
Pay in Rain Crossing through autumn / carrying the blame / you stare at the faces / but they’re all the same / They’re leaning on Jesus / You’re leaning on her / They’ve paid in anger / You’ve paid with yourself / Crossing through wintertime / Passing the field / There’s not much here / But take what you can / I’ll pay in rain // look at the remnants / Of one that was true / There’s not much left here /But try to find you / Dry season came / You knew where to hide / minor gods are not easy to find / Wait by the ocean / Wait for the rhyme / It’s a matter of climate / A matter of time // Have you seen baby / The walls once proud ?/ Rottin’ and fallen down / Down on the Ground / Have you seen baby / The beasts runnin’ free? / Their singin’ your old songs / They whisper to me / Have you seen baby / What’s left of the day? / While seasons come and go we stand / We pay in rain.

I Wanna go to the Beach Well I read it in the midnight press / A part was hard to believe, I know / The bla bla bla and the so and so / But there was truth in it // They had a picture shot in old Tangiers / Someone like you with a cat and a kid / I saw your ghost crossing right through it / To the mean old me // So I left my room and went out on the streets / To find the people who could right my wrong / They were all cheerin’ at the sinkin’ sun / Oh they were having fun // They took me down to the Dragon Den / Where I got packed and ready to be sent / “Yeah, we can make you travel far / In a shadowy train…” // I dreamt of ways headin’ for the coast / I dreamt of cliffs right above the sand / Woke up roaring on the ocean’s hand / I wanna go to the beach.

about

"Nazgul Says" is the follow up to critically ignored dry folk gem "Death of a Flower". Put to tape less than one year after that first attempt, it enhances the musical landscape and sharpens the inner vision, keeping the estoic dark pop vibe but delivering a more expansive approach that ranges from synth drenched two-chord nitemares (“Nazgul Says”) & folk mutations (“Illumination”) to roof-jumping R’n’R (“Everybody’s Weak”); from dylanesque shipwrecks (“I Wanna go to the Beach”) to field burning eight minute rides through the concrete plains, as in “Eve of all Churches Burning”, vibrantly delivered by punk rock poet Macky Chuca. Being the band almost the same as in the first record (a melting pot of professional friends in a permanent state of grace), the rehearsal time exactly the same (almost none) and Lord’s original intentions pretty similar (to go to the process and get back alive with a set of fine songs) it is fair to think that the subtle but evident change in scale and depth must come from somewhere else. Where from? Maybe the answer lies inside one of these ten strangely heartfelt songs about broken hands, naked cities, retired suns, houses made of bone, digital mothers, friendly monsters, the correct use of rain & how to avoid the pigs. Up to you to decide. Enjoy the trip.
